What inspires me about sharing this yoga with others is seeing people’s bodies slowly (and sometimes instantly!) transform. I love seeing the way my students get more comfortable in their own bodies. It is wonderful to experience the conversion of heaviness and dullness in the body into lightness. This process of transformation creates energy – an energy that breathes new life in to the spine.
The exciting thing is that it’s like a secret which dwells within every body. As we peel away the layers of tension the treasure reveals itself. We focus so much on our bodies from the outside, but the real magic lies on the inside! This is for anyone – if you are interested in your body, you can do yoga. You are welcome in my classes whatever the present condition of your body, whether you are new to yoga, are an experienced practitioner or a teacher.
I work flexibly and hands-on, offering lots of personal attention and encouragement. My classes are like workshops; there is the opportunity to explore asanas (yoga postures), to ask questions and to develop understanding of a practice.
I demonstrate different ways of approaching asanas. The emphasis is on releasing tension before and as we move into an asana…this is done by finding a more comfortable position to begin with.
I use my hands to help draw your awareness to areas of tension, forcing or pulling. Yoga should never ever feel forced!
“The practice of yoga is the commitment to become established in the state of freedom” Patanjali
“In my previous 10 years of doing yoga, I guess I had developed the subtle belief that yoga was supposed to feel like a stretchathon. Caroline encouraged me to explore movement without being too focused on the end position. Permission to enquire, play, open and learn. Caroline’s guidance is clear, accessible, honest and good humoured. In the space Caroline creates, I feel grateful for movement, my body and reminded of its boundless potential. A true gift for anyone. Very beautiful indeed!!……..” Adam, Firefighter
“Caroline’s approach to yoga is the most refreshing and practical I have found, offering some wonderful insights into our relationship with our bodies. As a teacher, she is incredibly wise and nurturing” Katie, Optometrist
“I was introduced to Caroline’s teaching and style of yoga after practising yoga for several years. It is a beautiful way to approach the practice and one that has both inspired me and changed the way I approach my own yoga practice. I found it very enlightening and would say that Caroline is one of the most influential people I have come into contact with in more recent years. I feel very fortunate to have stumbled across her class.” Kate, Fellow teacher
